Dóri & Balázs – and vintage trains
Once we started to think about the concept and location for the engagement session with Dóri and Balázs, we had a single word written on a piece of paper: “oil”. Actually, it means, Balázs like everything that works with oil and smells like oil (yes, born-to-be-engineer :) ). From this starting point, arriving to something to do with trains was a trivial step – old/vintage steam locomotives, of course.
And then came all the little details, to find our way back to the past… they were really humble, worrying in the phone about not having any sort of accessories, nor clothing, etc. for such kind of “time travel” – and then they popped out of the car, just like you see below. Just like straight out from a time machine. Keep your eyes on all the details! :)
I have collected some of my grandpa’s photos our favourite images from this photoshoot for a blogpost, and a little more in the slideshow:
Johanna & Daniel
We used to bring home some specific memories from every wedding: just a moment or any other detail which was unique for that wedding… in the case of Johanna and Daniel, it was the same both for Eszter and myself. Compared to Johanna, we have photographed only brides with a poker-face, for sure. :) Throughout our carrier, we have never met a bride with such vivid and and expressive facial expressions – which is a special gift to the photographer: it’s hard to capture invisible emotions, even if feel it with our other senses… but this time, we did not have to struggle with it. :)
And I want to mention the children here. They always bring the fun to every wedding; they do not “behave”, they are the same children as on any other day, apart from the “festive” dresses. They are straight and humble: they have fun or get bored, used to play with anyone and anything… in Hungarian we have a word, “önfeledt”, which translates to something like “someone truly being him/herself, forgotten of the world outside”. That’s the best word to describe them – the children, making our funniest pictures all the time. My personal favorite was the little girl hiding herself at the last bench of the church… observing me, the photographer: what is this guy doing here? I do not know how long time has passed, until I have recognized my hidden, hooded observer… :)
Of course, there is much more to remember than emotions, facial expressions and funny children – the slideshow was made for you if you want to see the whole wedding (as we have seen it):
Zsuzsi & Nico
Despite (or even because of) a few years of experience, we still love photographing weddings. Every couple, every person is completely different – and we usually we find something really interesting in everyone after a meeting or photosession, which makes them special for us. In the case of Zsuzsi and Nico we found it once we asked them where did they meet each other: the TransSiberian Express is not a typical answer for this question… :)
For such a trip they probably should have been as fearless as for a twilight photosession in a forest full of mosquitos (for those who do not remember we recall the engagement session), but who knows… maybe the mosquitos were more frightening. :) Anyway, their courage always has its own reward… sometimes a wife/husband, sometimes just a few photos; but we hope, both brings joy. Knowing that, maybe it’s no surprise that our long time awaited chance to make a photos with a mix of sunshine and dark, stormy clouds was realized at their wedding. :)
Besides the dark clouds and warming sunshine, there is much more to tell about the wedding. Sit back, find your earphones / switch on the music, and enjoy the slideshow:
